Pistol Club
SSAA Mudgee and District Branch Inc. Pistol Club was formed in 1998. Branch Members are now able to take advantage of the Pistol shooting disciplines enjoyed by SSAA members throughout Australia. The Pistol Club forms part of the branch structure as a subcommittee with the members elected at the Branch Annual General Meeting.
Members have an opportunity to participate in a broad range of Pistol shooting activities, including;
Rimfire & Centrefire Sports Pistol, Muzzle loading, Single Action Revolver Blackpowder Cartridge, Centrefire & Rimfire Silhouette, Modified Service Pistol, Single Action Revolver Service Match, Rimfire & Centrefire Precision Matches.Mudgee & District Branch hosted the first SSAA NSW PISTOL Championships in 1999 & 2000, again in 2007 & 2008.
Match’s are shot three times each month, refer to calendar for Events/Match.

With the intent of removing as many barriers as possible and thus allowing more people to become involved in the sport, the Pistol clubs normal (non competition) club events allow flexibility (as long as it is safe) with equipment and firearms.
Club pistol matches may have a mixture of Centrefire and Rimfire handguns competing in the same event.
The Pistol clubs Competition shoots are all run according to the match rules and ALL firearms and equipment must comply with the relevant rules and categories. Handguns must comply with the correct calibre, i.e. Centrefire sports pistol, Rimfire sports pistol, Rimfire & Centrefire Precision etc.
The club has a number of .22 single action revolvers and a .22 lever action for use by members and licensed visitors wishing to participate in western action events. There are also club .22 semi-auto pistols and revolvers for members and licensed visitors use in pistol events.
PISTOL MATCHES
* RAPID FIRE : 60 ROUNDS REQUIRED. 5 TARGETS USED, TIME LIMITS 1O -8 – 6 SECONDS 6X 5 SHOTS ONE ON EACH TARGET IN ALLOTED TIME
* SPORTS PISTOL : 30 Rounds in own time on one target.
* PRECISION MATCH : 60 ROUNDS REQUIRED, 1 TARGET USED, TIME LIMITS 4 x 5 ROUNDS IN 3 MINUTES, 4 x 5 ROUNDS IN 2 MINUTES, 4 x 5 ROUNDS IN 1 MINUTE
